2 Minute Interview:

How does your workshop relate to being in the NOW?

This workshop invites you enter a contemplative now. Using an accessible exercise which requires no acting ability but instead simply asks you to be present in the moment. We will create a moment of performance that uses Brian Eno’s ambient music as a model. Working in an open collaborative format we will generate a slowly shifting and evolving performance landscape, where everyone is intricately linked in the now.

What are you most looking forward to doing within your slot at NOW?

What always excites me is how performance can create an intimate contact between people in the moment through the sharing of an action and an impulse. That moment of meeting another.

Any tips on how the audience can most benefit from your workshop?

Think of this as more like music than theatre, watch as you would watch waves rolling onto the shore or of clouds passing across the sky.

At Deptford Lounge:

‘One Person, Walking – Others Joining’: A NOW Live Events performance workshop with Peader Kirk

Peader Kirk’s playful workshop for NOW Live Events at Deptford Lounge will be filled with interaction and engagement with others. Treating being (and performance) as a process, a developing landscape we make together. This interactive workshop asks, how does what I do add to what you do? Taking one simple action as a starting point, we will explore collaboration from a place of being in the here and now. No experience of performance is necessary, no acting is required –simply ‘One Person, Walking – Others Joining’.
